Disney Misconceptions

1) Characters don't wonder the park. You know those commercials when kids skip along with Mickey and friends? Yeah, that doesn't really happen. You have to wait in lines to see all the many characters of Disney. Some longer than others. Bring snacks, treats, bubbles, stickers, etc to keep kids busy in lines. Also, make sure to hit the potty up before! Nothing is worse than standing in line for an hour to almoooost be at the front to hear "I need to go poooootty!".

2) Dining reservations are a MUST.  Disney is not a 'wing it' kind of vacation. If planning out your day ruins your vacation ideal, Disney might not be for you. I'm not saying your entire day needs planned to the minute but with ADRs (Advance Dining Reservations) and fast passes, planning is a must.

3) Bringing in your own snacks is totally doable. You can't bring in large coolers but you can leave them in your car. Break mid day and save money by eating in your car. You can bring in water bottles or juice boxes as well.

4) No, it's not just you. It really is almost always crowded. However there are certain days at certain parks that are less busy than others. Ask your Archer Luxury Travel agent to assist you with helping you plan your days. There are tips such as eating at the non traditional meal times, getting there early to ride the most crowded rides first, utilizing fast passes, as well as different times of the year. Crowds can ruin a vacation. Plan accordingly if you can. Be patient, everyone is in the same boat.

5) Waiting in lines is not a Disney requirement. If you follow guidelines to avoid long lines you can absolutely avoid them. Travel off season, be flexible, plan your days etc. It can be done.

6) You can get free water at any quick service restaurant. The water is filtered through the machine but it still has a Florida water taste. If that bothers you, you can find a filtered water bottle to help.

7) Perks to staying on site are aplenty. Yes, staying off site saves you money but you have to weigh the pros and cons. Extra magic hours are a big bonus. On site transportation is another. Not to mention Disney magic is aplenty. The theming, the restaurants, the staff...  you just can't go wrong.

8) Disney isn't just about riding rides and seeing characters. There are so many amazing shows, parades, street performances etc that are a must see! Not to mention (some free and some with additional fees) special tours, horseback riding, carriage rides, bonfires, movies on the beach, fishing, and so much more!

9) If you come to Disney expecting only traditional theme park food like hot dogs, burgers and soda - you are missing out! Disney has some of the best dining to offer! You'll find fine dining options as well as character meals!
